Cru Zoning According to Cantine di Marzo
Monday, April 7 – 11:00 a.m.
Pavilion B, Campania Region (stands 158-159) – Joint area of the Irpinia Wine Consortium and the Irpinia-Sannio Chamber of Commerce.
A multi-year project involving geologists, oenologists, and university researchers, aimed at exploring the connection between soil, climate, and the sensory characteristics of wines.
Through the analysis of weather and climate data, the study of geological and mineralogical profiles, and the observation of biochemical components, it was possible to identify an initial scientific correlation between micro-terroir and the identity of individual crus.
They will speak:
Ferrante di Somma, owner of Cantine di Marzo
Vincenzo Mercurio, winemaker
Prof. Mariano Mercurio, mineralogist at the University of Sannio
Tommaso Luongo, president of AIS Campania
Institutional greetings by Teresa Bruno, President of the Irpinia Wine Consortium. The meeting will be moderated by Luciano Pignataro, journalist and wine writer.
Final Tasting
At the end of the conference, a guided tasting of the three Greco di Tufo DOCG Riserva 2022 crus will be offered: Vigna Ortale, Vigna Serrone, and Vigna Laure.
